D&L Construction Inc. located near Parshall, ND is looking for experienced Hydrovac operators to join our crew. We are looking to hire immediately, and pay is based on experience.
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Hydrovac Operator to operate hydrovac excavation equipment for utility locating, daylighting, trenching, potholing, and excavation projects. The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for safely operating the truck and vacuum excavation system, maintaining equipment, and ensuring work is completed according to company, client, and regulatory safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks and related excavation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform non-destructive excavation around underground utilities, pipelines, and infrastructure.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
- Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic control and hazard identification.
- Read and interpret utility locates, site plans, and work orders.
- Monitor water pressure, vacuum systems, and excavation activities to prevent damage to utilities.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of hydrovac equipment.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, company, and client safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, utility representatives, and crew members.
- Assist with labor duties as needed at job sites.
- Complete daily reports, timesheets, inspection forms, and safety documentation.
Qualifications
- Previous hydrovac experience
- Valid CDL Class A
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of excavation safety practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience are an asset.
